The State of Current Affairs

The following is a summation of the known state of affairs in our country. It is perhaps incomplete, however it paints a grim picture of where we stand and where we are most likely headed.

In 1984 the U.S. signed with the WTO (World Trade Organization) and passed NAFTA. These purport to support free trade, however the documents are over 20,000 pages. It does NOT take 20,000 pages to describe free trade. These agreements transfer our sovereignty regarding trade decisions to another world body. True free trade does not require treaties or agreements between governments. To the contrary free trade occurs in the absence of governments.

The constitution grants congress, and congress alone, the authority to regulate trade and craft tax laws. Congress cannot cede or relinquish that authority to the WTO or any other international body. NOR can the president LEGALLY sign any treaty that purports to do so.

Our founders never entended for America to become entangled in global trade schemes, and they certainly never intented to have our domestic laws overridden by international bureaucrats, nor for our sovereignty to be signed away by either congress or the president.

Joining the WTO has given us the worst of both worlds in that we now have restricted trade and foreign socialist bureaucrats mandating congressional legislation affecting American businesses....to our detriment and their advantage.

In December of 1998 president Clinton signed away U.S. Rights for UN Rules. This essentially brought the American people under the control of the UN and gave away any right we had to free speech or resistance to tyranny. He essentially signed away our sovereignty to the UN. Executive order no:13107

At the recent G 20 summit Obama signed an agreement giving the IMF oversight over our economic policy making which even extends to setting or limiting the executive salaries of American companies.

Obama has said he will sign the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, if and, when it hits his desk. This basically states that you will be able to keep your children as long as you go along with the left leaning ideology of the UN, and, if not, they will be taken from you. It also states that the rights of the children exceed those of the parent. It makes the congress subservient to the mandates of the UN.

Those four cases all circumvent our constitution and our rights. I do not need to explain how outrageous that turn of events is.

Those four items, one of which has yet to be signed, constitute the first item of concern.

The federal government has started taking over industry. Chrysler and Gm.

The federal government has taken over the banking system.

The FDIC is bankrupt and we have had over 124 banks closed so far this year and 1000 more are on the FDIC endangered list of troubled banks.

They are currently attempting to take over control of the health of the American people. When the entitlements for social security and medicare already have off the book costs of over 56 TRILLION dollars and are unsustainable.

I had planned to write articles on the proposed immigration reform and card check. It appears, at the moment, that I may not have an opportunity to do so any time soon. That being the case, I wish to insert here what the intentions are with those two proposals.

It is estimated that there are currently somewhere between 7 and 10 million illegal immigrants in the country. Obama and the Democrats in congress want them to get two things; first, is free health care, and second, amnesty. Their thinking is to tie the loyalty of the illegals to the Democratic party by giving them both. They wish to secure that large block of voters. Providing amnesty and free health care will encourage millions more illegals to swarm into the states because they have no such benefits in Mexico.

Card check is to force more Americans, as well as the currently illegals into the unions, which have historically supported the Democratic party and their left wing agendas. Obama is doing numerous things to funnel money into the unions and that money is then used to keep the Democrats in power and to further their special interests. Our tax money I might add.

The SEIU (union) is supporting this strongly as they see they can grow and benefit from these proposals.

The problem for those of us who are concerned about our country and our freedoms is that these proposals, if they come to pass, will severely dilute the power of the vote of current and legitimate American citizens. It might be hard enough to unite the people behind a constitutional government as it is, but if these millions of illegals become voters and the unions are forced to grow exponentially, we may never be able to get a majority vote willing to return to the constitution. I hope the seriousness of these concerns reach my reader.

They are trying to pass the cap and trade bill and meanwhile Carol Browner is busy behind the scenes implementing those very policies...without senate approval.

They are secretly printing billions of dollars, monetizing our debt and destroying the US dollar in the process.

Since this page is intended primarily as a summary of where we currently stand, I do not intend to get into too much depth on this subject here. More detail will be found in a new article being written and soon to be posted on the subject of Liberty. However, with that said, let me but say the following here, for those who fail to appreciate or understand what is being done by the Federal Reserve.

When the Federal Reserve was established all they were looking for was a legal right to inflate the currency for the benefit of whatever special interest they were concerned with at any moment in time. (an elastic currency...which could be printed as needed...counterfeited actually)

As always, noble intentions are used to justify the inflation, but the real reasons are far more sinister. Those who control the money are the beneficiaries, not the people. They inflate the money by printing more of it. The process transfers the wealth from the poor and middle classes to the bureaucrats and special interests and devalues the currency.

Lenin is said to have stated that the best way to destroy the capitalist system was to destroy the currency. By a continuous process of inflation...through printing.. governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, the wealth of the citizens. There is no more subtle, nor more certain, means of overturning the existing basis of society than to destroy the currency. The process utilizes all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction and does it in a manner which not one man in one million is able to diagnose.

Marx's Fifth Plank of the Communist Manifesto mandates a strong central bank monopoly. This was viewed as necessary to maintain power over the entire economy and to protect against the encroachment of capitalism.

The president has appointmented  numerous self avowed socialists, Marxists, or communists as Czars in OUR White House...with unknown powers...and NO SUPERVISION by either congress or the people...answerable only to Obama.

The President fired the CEO of GM. Not sure where that power is granted in the constitution.

The congress says they will tax the AIG bonuses (paid per their contracts) at 90 percent...to take it from them. I believe that throws out American contract law.

They put GM and Chrysler into bankruptcy long enough to wipe out the life savings and retirement money of millions and give the stock to union members and the fed. I think that smacks of ultimate corruption and payback. Sounds totally constitutional to me!

I can tell you this; if you ever buy  a GM or Chrysler product, from this moment on, you will be guilty of aiding and abetting. It is now owned by the crooks who took it....from the very people who invested in it and supported it. I will savor the day both Chrysler and GM go belly up and all  the guilty parties enjoy their just rewards and the unemployment due thieves.

Their plans to let the tax reductions expire next year coupled with new taxes that are coming, and their out of control spending programs will likely break the economy totally.

Nancy Pelosi let slip this week that they are looking at adding a value added tax to the products we buy.

They increased the minimum wage during a deep recession. That is a real job producing concept. (of course all the money printing by the fed has the effect of lowering real wages)

China has dumped the dollar in preference of using a basket of world currencies as a medium of exchange. It was reported in The Independent (U.K. newspaper) that Saudi Arabia, Russia, France, and China have been meeting secretly in discussions of dumping the dollar as the reserve currency and using a basket of other world currencies...(U.S. dollar EXCLUDED.)..  as the reserve currencies.

The federal government all the while is increasing the entitlement programs...the Aspire Act gives 500.00 to each newborn and more to those born into low income families...approximately 6000.00 per family per year increase in payments to poor families.....done clandestinely.

We are bogged down in war in the middle east at a constant financial drain.

We have Iran on the verge of a nuclear weapon and Israel likely to preempt.

We currently have Robert McChesney, Mark Lloyd, Obama, and the FCC chairman meeting to control internet, radio, and television. McChesney is publisher of the Free Press (a marxist publication and he an avowed Marxist) The infamous Van Jones was a member of the board at Free Press. Essentially the plan is to silence conservative talk shows on TV and radio, and stop such communication on the internet. Lloyd and McChesney have espoused the overthrow of capitalism entirely in favor of socialism. Their goal is to control speech. Their complaint with the old Fairness Doctrine ...was that it didn't go far enough. They seek to remedy that problem.

Today I got an email from Newsmax magazine and they have an article from The Federal Communications Commissioner,Robert McDowell,  expressing his concerns regarding the extreme views of the "regulatory Czar", Mark Lloyd. He says that Lloyd's views are "troubling" indications of a penchant for regulating free speech. So, let's see what we have here....our sovereignty signed over to the UN, our economy signed over to the IMF, our trade rights signed over the the WTO, our parental rights to be signed over to the UN, takeover of the banks, takeover of industry, destruction of the dollar, destruction of the economy, an ongoing war, a nuclear threat, takeover of our health, a bankrupt FDIC, increased entitlements, and moving to shut down our free speech and the flow of information .....all for "social justice". Are we out of control yet?

In another day and time any one of these issues would have been cause for a congressional investigation or a lawsuit destined to land on the steps of the supreme court. But not now....we sit aghast.

All things considered, would it be unreasonable to think that maybe we are being pushed over a cliff? Would it be conceivable that we are being set up to fail? Could it be that we are being rushed into a MAJOR crisis which would give them an excuse to "FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM the United States of America"?

I let the reader decide. I say only this. The time to get organized and unite may be short. We may not even manage to get it done. If we do not, I don't believe that Americans will go down easily. There may be martial law. There may be violence between the socialist leaning and the freedom loving.

If it comes down to the choice of accepting the new form of government and throwing out the constitution and the Bill of Rights or keeping our Constitution and our Bill of Rights and tossing out the politicians, we must remember that our original form of government was the only form of government ever proven to work and that it was not the Constitution or the Bill of Rights, nor capitalism which got us into trouble. It was the corruption of men, the loss of virtue, the absence of morality, and the unethical conduct of those in power.

Ultimately it was we, the people, who failed to be vigilant and keep them in check. We are the stewards of freedom. If the authority must come from us, then the responsibility for maintaining that which is right must also rest with us.

In a company, where orders go from the top down, the buck stops at the top. In a republic, where the authority flows from the bottom up, the buck stops at the bottom. We made the mess and we have to clean it up.

I used to think that if it came to troops on the street that it would be American troops, but I am no longer so sure. The move toward rule under the UN makes me wonder if perhaps when the time comes it may be foreign troops on our streets.

Remember the executive order that Clinton signed.

Perhaps our outcries will sufficiently slow them that we might buy time to turn things around, but at best I suspect we have but little time. Certainly there is no time to be complacent. There are still far too many Americans out there who are failing to listen or refuse to hear. We must wake them up or we will fail to do so at the peril of all.

If our opponents succeed in bringing about a major crisis...such as hyper inflation or the crash of the dollar the slumbering Americans may wake up, but they may do so too late. That the dollar is in trouble can be seen in the upward movement in the price of gold. It is high because there are so many people fearing the inflation they see on the horizon. Many more major policy errors from Washington and they may tip the scales.

I suspect that two of the most important things we could do at this point is to be sure the health care reform does not pass and the cap and trade bill is killed. Next we must stop the immigration reform to give amnesty to millions of illegals, and the card check issue. If we can stop those we will buy important time. If we do not, all bets are off. I think they know that and that is why they want to push things through so fast. There are seldom honorable intentions behind secrecy and haste.
