IT'S ABOUT LOVE OF AMERICA
On the subject of Cap and Trade and the concerns thereof:
For some time now the media has been telling us that we have a global warming problem. The current administration has told us they want to accomplish two things regarding global warming and our consumption of energy. They have a "green policy". They intend to curb our carbon emissions and at the same time reduce our use of fossil fuels and reduce the subsequent dependence on foreign oil. A very noble sounding plan.
I would venture to say that most Americans have some degree of concern about our environment, conserving resources, and protecting our world. We would all like to be considered good custodians of mother earth.
My intent herein is an attempt to make as many facts known as possible. I believe our decisions in life are only as accurate as the information and data we consider in making those decisions. If we have incorrect information, we make incorrect decisions. Garbage in garbage out, so to speak.
My big complaint with our federal government, the media, and most politicians is that we can rarely get a straight answer to our questions, they either dodge them completely, tell us half truths, say what they think we want to hear, or flat out lie to us. It is difficult to know what is really going on or what the real truth is.
This much I can say without reservation....that most of what we have been told by the politicians both currently and in years past is nothing resembling the truth. Most of the terms they use are the opposite of their underlying intentions. You can no longer trust their words.
As I have read and researched facts of our history over the past 60 years or so I have been outraged. At times I became so furious at what I found that I literally had to stop reading. The lies we have been told, the deceptions perpetrated on an unsuspecting public, the corruption, and the self-serving motives of those in power, the indifference to the lives of the people, and blatant callous disregard of human life for money and votes....all for re-election, perpetuation of some ideology, or to obtain more power. It should be called treason upon the people and prosecuted. Most assuredly it has been unamerican and treacherous.
I am continuously uncovering stories of oppression in which people who attempt to present the truth, the facts, or oppose the lies are attacked, vilified, discredited, and silenced. If you do not want to go along with the deceptions you can expect serious trouble. It has become dangerous to speak the truth. This is utterly shocking to me and should never have happened in America.
I will relate a few instances only, but I assure my reader they are everywhere. I am going to quote an email that was disclosed by Senator James Inholfe (R) Oklahoma. He is a ranking member of the Environment and Public Works Committee. The email threatens to destroy the career of climate skeptic Mario Lewis, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
The email reads: "Mario: You have been proven wrong....The entire world has proven you wrong. You are the last guy on earth to get it. Take this warning from me, Mario. It is my intention to destroy your career as a liar. If you produce one more editorial against climate change, I will launch a campaign against your professional integrity. I will call you a liar and charlatan to the Harvard community of which you and I are members. I will call you out as a man who has been bought by corporate America. Go ahead, guy, Take me on." (signed) Michael T. Eckhart, president, American Council on Renewable Energy. (ACORE)
I think that now that the truth is out Mr. Eckhart looks really foolish, and he should get what he threatened.
In the Wall Street Journal April 12,2006 in an article titled "Climate of Fear" Dr. Richard Lindzen wrote: "Global warming alarmists intimidate dissenting scientists into silence" he goes on to explain that "The answer has much to do with misunderstanding science of climate, plus a willingness to debase climate science into a triangle of alarmism. Ambiguous scientific statements about climate are hyped by those with a vested interest in alarm, thus raising the political stakes for policy makers who provide funds for more science research to feed more alarm to increase the political stakes. After all, who puts money into science ....whether for AIDS, or for space, or climate...where there is nothing really alarming? Indeed, the success of climate alarmism can be counted in the increased federal spending on climate research from a few hundred million dollars pre-1990 to 1.7 billion today. It can also be seen in heightened spending on solar, wind, hydrogen, ethanol, and clean coal technologies, as well as on other energy investment decisions."
In another paragraph he states that " it isn't just that the alarmists are trumpeting model results that we know must be wrong. It is that they are trumpeting catastrophes that couldn't happen even if the models were right as justifying costly policies to try to prevent global warming" end quote.
I found one article I thought very interesting because it was written by an insider in the global warming movement. This site was found while researching global warming but the link I have does not seem to connect so I cannot give you the site. I will however give you excerpts. I found them interesting because this individual backed up things I found on numerous other sites but was done from the point of view of someone working on the inside.
The writer is one Norman Rogers and the article is dated August 27, 2009 for the American Thinker. He decided to get involved in the global warming movement after having retired. He claims to have been involved in numerous other crusades over the years.He states that he has completed his Ph.D in physics and felt he could deal with the technical side of the global warming theory. He states that he is a computer expert as well and felt his expertise would give him insight to the giant computer models of the earth's climate that are central to global warming science.
He goes on to say; "I smelled a rat right from the beginning. As a 20 something activist I had a job as the director of operations for Zero Population Growth, Inc. ZPG was a 70's environmental organization that at one time had 25,000 members. I knew that professional environmentalism has an ethics problem. Exaggeration promotes contributions."
He continues: "I cultivated native informants. I learned that most scientists don't have a good grasp of the big picture because they are narrowly specialized and don't think about much outside their immediate interests. The scientists that do have a grasp of the big picture can be divided into global warming advocates, skeptics, and the majority of passive observers who play it safe by not taking a position. The global warming advocates have the upper hand and the most power. The skeptics, including quite a few excellent scientists, are marginalized and frankly persecuted. They are whistle blowers. A lot of skeptics are retired. The warmers can't cancel pensions, at least not yet. The most famous promoter of global warming, James Hansen, wants to put his opponents on trial for crimes against humanity."
Further: "Global warming scare stories are good for global warming science because the scare stories promote research funding. If it weren't for the scary predictions these scientists would be toiling in a poorly funded obscure branch of academic science. As the distinguished scientist Richard Lindzen noted in an article fear is more effective than gratitude for inducing financial support."
and: "If climate doom were not impending the IPCC would not be necessary, thus it is a bureaucratic imperative that the IPCC predicts climate doom."
There is language floating around out there such as, "at what point do we jail or execute global warming deniers?" "Shouldn't we punish them now?" These are from Talking Point Memo, an agenda setting site of the far left. There are many that are worse that I uncovered.
I have found a great deal of evidence to support this fact in each subject matter I have researched regarding the issues on which I have written for the upcoming book. It is no wonder that Americans have responded so swiftly when then have heard words of truth....because you can hardly find them and rarely hear them. I must say that they are very refreshing when you do. The media promotes only the alarmist view and is to blame for the fact that so many Americans are misinformed.
I am going to cover one more article I found that I thought was impressive. This article is at mlive.com. The title is "Flint Opinion & Voices." The article is dated January 19, 2009. It is from the Flint Journal and is by John Tomlinson. It is revealing as well.
..."At December's UN Global Warming conference in Poznan, Poland, 650 of the world's top climatologists stood up and said that man-made global warming is a media generated myth without basis. Said climatologist Dr. David Gee, Chairman of the International Geological Congress, "For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming?" It turns out he is right.
"the earth's temperature peaked in 1998. It's been falling ever since; it dropped dramatically in 2007 and got worse in 2008, when temperatures touched 1980 levels."
"Meanwhile, the University of Illinois' Arctic Climate Research Center released conclusive satellite photos showing that the Arctic ice is back to 1979 levels. What's more measurements of Antarctic ice now show that it's accumulation is up 5 percent since 1980."
"In other words during what was supposed to be massive global warming the biggest chunks of ice on earth grew larger. Just as an aside, do you remember when the hole in the ozone was going to melt Antarctica? But don't worry we're safe now, this is the 90's."
"Dr. Kunihiko, Chancellor of Japan's Institute of Science and Technology said this: "CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or the other....every scientist knows this, but it doesn't pay to say so." Now why would a learned man say such a crazy thing?"
"This is where the looney left gets lost. Their mantra is atmospheric CO2 levels are escalating and this is unquestionably causing earth's temperature rise. But ask yourself...if global temperatures are experiencing the biggest sustained drop in decades, while CO2 levels continue to rise....how can it be true?"
"Ironically, in spite of being shown false, we must now pay for it. Because a massive study, just released by the Russian Government , contains overwhelming evidence that earth is on the verge of another ice age."
"Based on core samples from Russia's Vostok Station in Antarctica, we now know earth's atmosphere and temperature for the last 420,000 years. The evidence suggests that the 12,000 years of warmth we call the Holocene period is over."
"Apparently, we're headed into an ice age of about 100,000 years....give or take. As for the CO2 levels, core samples show conclusively they follow the earth's temperature rise, not lead it."
"It turns out CO2 fluctuations follow the change in sea temperatures. As the water temperatures rise, oceans release additional CO2...like opening a warm brewsky."
According to a lengthy study by the Heritage Foundation they conclude that: "Cap and trade bills are nothing short of a government re-engineering of the American economy, and S.2191, with its aggressive targets to reduce emissions from fossil fuel use, would put the nation on a path of serious economic harm not justified by the benefits."
I am off my subject in saying this here, but I am one American who is sick and tired of all the politically correct bullshit. I grew up in an age where people told it like it was and minced no words about it. You see, the truth happens to be the truth. Sometimes it isn't pretty, sometimes it hurts, but it is what it is. To turn your head and pretend it isn't there does not make it change or go away. It reminds me of the kids who close their eyes so you cannot see them. It provides fertile ground for corruption and lies.
I understand that they are now removing from history books that the terrorists who bombed the towers on 9-11 were Islamic radicals ....because we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. EXCUSE ME! Are the facts suddenly irrelevant. Does the truth no longer matter? I caution you, when they start eliminating facts and tell half truths in the history books the next step will be to alter it and then change it completely until there is no existing history or any past truth to consider. It is "selective" history.....and then no true history.
This all smacks of doublespeak and "1984" by George Orwell. Inch by inch, foot by foot, slowly we turn....
Already they hold up four fingers and tell you it is two. If you question them, or do not believe, then you will feel their wrath. You think I jest but I do not. I found countless cases of eminent climatologists who were financially cut off, castigated, discredited, or silenced in various ways because they spoke out in opposition of the global warming issue.
As I began my research on the subject I had no firm opinion on the issue either way. It is possible that some portions of the theory may still be in question and consequently debatable. There are a number of issues which are not in doubt and a number which have been so repeated by the media and talking heads that I fear many Americans have once again been indoctrinated and duped into believing it without question.
If I learned nothing else in college, I did understand the value of critical thinking. It used to be taught in colleges, though I am not so sure that it is in this day and age because it probably isn't considered politically correct anymore. We are apparently supposed to take Washington's word for everything and question nothing.
I was taught to consider the source of my facts and ask myself if there was some motive behind what I was being told....to consider whether or not the speaker might have something to gain by my acceptance or belief of the information....to consider whether or not the information was even accurate....what is it based on?...rumor? scientific fact?...test results? simulations? hearsay? Is there proof? What are the motives behind it?
I consider myself an independent thinker. I like to decide for myself. Call me skeptical. I have reviewed the history of Washington lies, the politician's lies, and the special interests and their lies. It is my belief that I have every reason NOT to believe anything they say. I think our experience in life is perhaps our best resource to consider when making decisions. I always consider mine, and my experience with the federal government tells me to be very leery of any big government proposal. I have yet to see one turn out to be what they claimed, cost what they said it would cost, function as they said it would, or ever turn out to be anything but another bad deal in a long list of bad deals for the folks.
They claim to help and to give ...and all the while they are taking. They claim they want diversity and fairness .....while they silence all voices of opposition. They claim they are going to stimulate .....as they stifle. Why would I ever question them or their proposals? Maybe because every single one has been a disaster. Maybe because every single one has betrayed the public trust. Maybe because the only discernible beneficiary of any were the politicians in Washington and their special interest groups.
They claim to be indignant about the ponzi scheme of Madoff who scammed investors of 50 billion or so, and yet they created the two biggest ponzi schemes in history with the social security and medicare scams which total 100s of billions.. Madoff had absolutely nothing on these crooks.
The folks who are on social security and/or medicare at this time are probably the lucky ones because they were at the top of the pyramid. Those on the bottom are more screwed than the investors with Madoff. But, we should trust them, right?
So, if you think that perhaps I went into this with the eye of a skeptic, you would be correct. Do I have any motivation to have my findings prove the issue one way or the other? No. I have found some lies. I have found some issues in question. I have found some agreement and some disagreement. As with any government issue, some stupidity, some likely corruption, some special interest involvement, and the usual deception being perpetrated on an unsuspecting public.
I've included a few references on this topic for any reader who wishes to read some of what I found on their own. Critical review, if you wish. For those who have less time I have provided portions of many articles and a summary of my conclusions.
To put it quite simply, there is little evidence to support their theories. Most of their theories are based on computer models, estimated projections, and some on untruths. There is actually a recent article using not computer models or theories, but using real time data recorded over several years that proves there is no basis for global warming at all. It states that the debate is now dead in the water. The findings were published August 18, 2009.
The findings were released by Professor Richard Lindzen of MIT. The quote on Examiner.com says " the pdf file located at the link above from the Science and Public Policy Institute has absolutely, convincingly, and irrefutably proven the theory of Anthropogenic Global Warming to be completely false." (anthropogenic is man caused)
In the conclusion the following was posted:
"There are only a couple of conclusions to be made of this. Either the world has been misled by scientists working for the UN and IPCC due to faulty science, or faulty science has been deliberately used in a global scheme to generate tax revenues for the governments instituting Cap and Trade Taxation policies.
Either way, the world has been the victim of some very bad science. The results of which can be seen in drastically reduced GDP in countries with the Cap and Trade laws in place as well as a 5 to 10% decrease in standard of living there (Taxing Carbon designed to fail) all with little or no effect on emissions globally." This article and the details of these findings can be found at www.examiner.com in an article by Portland Civil Rights Examiner, Dianna Cotter dated August 18, 2009 7:39am.
Dr. Lindzen states "we now know that the effect of CO2 on temperature is small, we know why it is small, and we know that it is having very little effect on the climate."
One deception Al Gore and his followers have claimed is that CO2 rises into the atmosphere and causes the greenhouse effect. All scientists laugh at this and say that the density of CO2 is 1.5 times that of air. It does not rise into the atmosphere...IT SINKS. According to Robert W. Felix of the authoritative iceagenow.com ...CO2 is INCAPABLE of rising up into the upper atmosphere.
Canada's Dr. Tim Bell, a renowned environmental consultant and former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg who has an extensive background in climatology says "CO2 is about 1.5 times the density of air. One of the great fallacies promoted by (the proponents of the global warming theory) is that CO2 is well and quickly mixed through the atmosphere. It isn't. They also argue that the CO2 is most effective in trapping heat from the earth (infrared) at the top of the atmosphere. This is why the computer models predicted greatest warming at the top of the atmosphere over the tropics. The problem is that the actual measurements show that is not happening."
"CO2 most certainly does not form some sort of magical layer in the atmosphere that then acts like a greenhouse, says analytical chemist Hans Schreuder, "that is pure pseudo-science."
Another fact that they are conveniently NOT talking about is that since 1998 the temperature has been DROPPING....NOT RISING. The science community seems to think that the rise in CO2 levels actually FOLLOWS a period of warming. You see there are apparently cycles of warming and cooling that tend to run about 30 years or so. There are a large number of scientists who now believe that we may be entering a period of global cooling.
Ocean temperatures have been dropping for the last five years and the polar ice sheets have been growing.
Regardless of whether you wish to believe that there is really global warming or not and whether or not our carbon emissions are an issue, the only ones I can find who believe in the Cap and Trade bill that was passed by the House of Representatives are: (it is a very short list) Al Gore, Obama and his team, The Democrats in Congress, and General Electric. Note that I did not say that they necessarily believe in Global warming, but they certainly believe in their cap and tax bill. And they CLAIM they believe in global warming.
There are problems. The leading advocate for the global warming theory is one James Hansen. He is the director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in Manhattan. He is apparently way out there to the left farther than anyone I could find, and he argues the Cap and Trade Bill is essentially a sham. This is from an article in The New Yorker by Elizabeth Kolbert dated June 29, 2009.
I recently saw a youtube video which was done by two former EPA attorneys who, although they believe in man caused global warming, explain that the cap and trade bill passed by the house is a scam and would do nothing about global warming.
There is the problem that Al Gore stands to make about 1 billion dollars from the passage of the bill. General Electric stands to make several billion. The congress of course gets huge taxes and an incredible boost in their grab for power over the folks. These are not disinterested third parties. They all stand to gain from this bill.
The facts on it boil down simply as well. Whether or not CO2 is a problem. Their program will do nothing to change the CO2 level. It will not affect either global cooling or warming....whichever eventuality we face.
What it will do: it will cost MILLIONS OF JOBS....it will cost TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS....congress even acknowledges that fact. It will raise the cost of living exponentially. Estimates vary. The CBO figures are worthless. I have seen estimates of about 2000.00 per year per family of four, but I do not believe them.
As a former business owner, here is what I must caution. During the election I understood that the intent was to place a tax on gasoline of 1.25 a gallon. My understanding was that Pelosi wanted gas at 4.00 per gallon. She does not want us to drive. The figures I found on the Heritage Foundation site said gas would go up 1.38 per gallon.
The Republicans in the House tried to insert an amendment to the bill stating that if gas hit 5.00 per gallon that they suspend the bill. The Democrats killed it. The Republicans tried to attach an amendment to suspend the program if unemployment hit 15% and the Democrats killed that too. The intent is to raise the price of electricity and fuels. With no regard for lost jobs.
Perhaps it would be good to explain here that we currently import about 70% of our oil which transfers hundreds of billions of our dollars overseas to mostly third world countries every year. It is a huge transfer of our wealth and is used to buy American property and American companies, as well as for making loans back to usIf they pass the cap and trade bill the taxes collected on energy use....fuels...will be paid to third world countries, most of which a ruthless dictatorships, and many are enemies of our country. This has the effect of doubling the transfer of American wealth overseas.
We have all the oil right here in our country that we need and probably more than we could ever use. We have oil in Anwar, along the gulf coast, and along both the east and west coasts. So, why don't we use our own oil you ask? Well, it is primarily because the environmental groups oppose our drilling of the oil. Why would they do this you ask? That is because most of these groups were taken over long ago by the radical left elements...the socialists fascists ect. The current administration is composed of these very people, so no, they will not want to drill. To do so would defeat their pupose which is precisely to transfer America's wealth to the third world countries.
If you raise fuel prices and electricity....farmers will be hit hard. Estimates are that their costs will increase 50 to 60 percent. That does not mean that food will go up 50 to 60 percent. Oh, no! You must add storage, transportation, wholesalers, distributors, retailers. Every single entity which touches that product from farm to table will have to add onto the price. No one knows what the end price is likely to be or how hard it will hit the consumer.
If food, gas, electricity, and clothing all skyrocket, consumer confidence and consumer spending will plummet and retail sales will follow. Businesses will close or move out of country, and jobs will be lost both ways. Standby, if this bill passes.
Consumers will likely see the biggest and most widespread increase in prices of consumer goods in our history. Do I think that the cost to a family of four will be 2000.00 more per year. NO WAY! The added cost of gasoline and electricity...that might only be 2000 more per year, but it will not stop there.
Basically this is a HUGE TAX. It is the biggest tax ever perpetrated on us in our history.
Think this is crazy? Well, consider this. In Europe they have spent trillions on similar programs and their carbon emissions have gone up. So, it gets more and more crazy. To give you an idea of what one writer in Britain had to say about this new cap and trade bill I give you the quote.
Suzanne Goldenberg of Britain's Guardian newspaper wrote on June 16, 2009 that "Today's release is part of a carefully crafted strategy by the White House to help build public support for Obama's agenda and boost the prospects of a climate change bill now wending it's way through Congress, the notorious Cap and Trade bill now in trouble because IF ENACTED IT WOULD ALL BUT DESTROY THE U.S. ECONOMY."
Phil Brennan wrote for Newsmax.com on June 25th 2009 , "and the whole 1000 plus page cap and trade bill that even it's sponsors haven't read is based on fiction, a scientific absurdity."
I predict that the loss of jobs, the increase in the cost of living, the increased cost of doing business will destroy the economy. When these prices go up the small business gets clobbered. Because sales will drop and expenses go up. Manufacturing jobs will be hit hard and as businesses close unemployment will skyrocket.
I grew up thinking common sense meant you had the sense to come in out of the rain, but we have people in congress who are being bombarded with facts and cannot (will not) see them because they do not want to.
I have been fortunate enough, recently, to have the time and opportunity to look into issues that concern us all and it is my intent to get to the truth and get it out to my fellow countrymen in an effort to allow us all the opportunity to make some informed decisions based on TRUTH. How refreshing would it be to hear REAL TRUTH? Real truth in government would revolutionize the institution! We may get it there one day but it is likely that it will take us a while.
It is likely to take a while because of the forces lined up against us, the American people, who love our country, our freedoms, our free enterprise system, and capitalism have a foe who conceals the truth and the facts in noble sounding adjectives, noble sounding concepts, noble ideals, and lies. They cannot promote their agendas with truth or facts because the facts do not support their cause. The truth would close them down.
It is therefore imperative that they cloak their agendas in deceptive terms or skewed data. The truth has to be denied and discarded. If you question their agenda you are attacked or vilified. They will not sit down and discuss facts because they cannot deal with the truth or the facts. They seek to avoid, destroy, or eliminate any opposition to their agenda rather than welcome discussion.
These people seek to destroy all that we as Americans hold so dear. They pass laws and regulations that obstruct and interfere with the free market, or capitalism, and when their manipulations go all haywire because of all the unforeseen consequences they claim it is proof that capitalism does not work, that free enterprise is a failed concept and then pass more regulatory measures to further obstruct what they already screwed up in the name of fixing a failed system.
They never back off a mistake, but rather they seek to compound the problem.
Their enemy is a united people so they seek to keep us in conflict amongst ourselves. By keeping us in conflict they defeat us. They have for years vilified American business and the businessman. They have done their level best to make the worker and the employer adversaries. As a business owner most of my life I saw the lies. I was always loyal to my employees and they to me. But our foes cannot have this.
In Europe the move to socialism was much easier because they had an existing class system for centuries. It was easy to create dissent between the aristocrats and the serfs as there were distinct classes of people who were caste into a perpetual class with little or no hope of changing or advancing their station in life.
The challenge in America was more daunting because although we did have 10% or so at the poverty level at any one time, they had equal opportunity to change their station in life so that 10% was ever changing in make up....ie different folks. Since they could not pit aristocrat against serf or vice versa they had to attempt to pit worker against employer.
The real irony is that 100 years ago or so about 90% of Americans were self-employed. The powers that existed at the time decided that this presented a problem. You see we were on the verge of the industrial revolution. Henry Ford invented the assembly line etc. The problem was that the factories and industry did not have enough workers. It was decided that they needed to "indoctrinate" the American people and change their thinking.
They started teaching kids that they needed to get an education and go out and get a "job". This was necessary to provide the manpower to staff the factories of the industrial revolution. My generation grew up listening to schools and adults alike tell us that we needed to get an education, and go find a good "job" for security.
Not many years later they started vilifying the employers and business in general as wicked, profit hungry, greedy, and self serving. I met very few business owners who ever ran their business in such a manner. The politicians and the government implied that the business owner was not to be trusted, had to be regulated; soon there was little loyalty left between employer and employee. In reality it was an excuse to implement government regulations to interfere with the free market forces and gain control over people and business alike.
But this is not the only way they seek to keep us divided. They try to keep us divided into Republican or Democrat. They never want to consider that people might just be concerned Americans or that OUR agenda might just be preservation of our country and our freedoms. No, if we oppose someones ideology or question a proposal, we are, a bigot, a racist, the opposing party,,,whoever that may be at any given time. But we are never to be GROUPED as concerned citizens or Americans. To do so might give us the idea we are somewhat united in our concerns. We are not to be allowed to ever think we might be united or might represent the majority sentiment.
It is imperative that they keep us in conflict with one another over SOMETHING.
In our recent history there are numerous examples of how we, the people, have been slowly conditioned and indoctrinated to the thinking they desired us to believe. It is a little upsetting to find so many instances in which they have sold us a bill of goods so convincingly and to realize that we actually bought into it. There are a lot of people in this country today who are living lies because of the misinformation we were all fed. If you hear it all your life you just believe it and most never stop to question it.
I must tell you that it is time to question a lot of things we have been led to believe.
Recently the congress had Al Gore speak to them regarding global warming. The opposing side of the debate had invited the lead scientist on global warming from Britain who was, as I recall, the head scientific adviser to Margaret Thatcher. He flew here and was at the congress to speak but they refused to allow him to enter. ( or so it was reported on the news) I have no further information on the subject, but it struck me at the time that the congress did not want to hear anything that opposed the plan they had in mind with cap and trade. They have a history of refusing to hear that which they do not want to hear or that which does not further their agenda or serve their purpose.
My suggestion to the reader, based on my research, is that when considering governmental programs that you look beyond their stated intentions because their real motivation is most often quite different than they would have us believe. Over the years the federal government and the politicians serving in Washington have given us untold numbers of reasons not to trust what they tell us.
The current administration has already violated the public trust in numerous ways and has cast suspicion upon their entire agenda. The people are justifiably upset and leery at this point and I suggest that a healthy dose of skepticism is warranted.
The cap and tax subject is no different. I found numerous sites with various facts and I found one which summed many of them up in one page. I found it a good summary. At first I took it as biased and I printed it but after reviewing site after site I began to see that I was gradually uncovering, albeit one at a time, the facts on this one site. I thought it pretty succinct so I will list the points made here for the reader:
1. Since 1895 scientists and alarmists have been switching between global warming and global cooling. From 1895 to the 1930's they were warning of global cooling. From the 1920's to the 1960's it was global warming. From the 1950's to the 1970's it was global cooling...now it is global warming again.
2. In the medieval ages there was a great warming cycle. This was before any carbon dioxide being put out by factories, cars etc. In fact it was warmer then than it is now. In fact the Vikings grew crops in Greenland at the time!
3. Most alarmists fail to recognize the fact that temperatures began warming in the 1850's. Now tell me ..did they have CO 2 emissions then?
4. Also a group of former left wing environmentalists formed the Copenhagen Census in which they ranked they world's most pressing problems. You know what? They ranked global warming last. They ranked it last because there are problems happening now, like poverty and starvation, things we can actually help with.
5. finally, due to a group of scientists, they showed the world a study of Greenland. They reported that Greenland's interior is gaining mass. Also the Arctic was warmer in the 1930's than it is now. But I bet the media didn't tell you that, now did they?
6. In the 1940's, right when the CO 2 levels boomed, the temperature dropped. Yes the temperature dropped right as CO 2 boomed. Now tell me, why do you think the alarmists are ignoring these inconvenient truths?
7. In 1850, the little ice age ended, so, naturally that means a warming cycle began. All the global warming believers conveniently ignore this bit of information.
8. Senator James Inholfe, former chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works has said, quote "no meaningful warming has occurred over the last century." end quote.

What she did not include is that since 1998 temperatures have been dropping and almost reached the temperature levels of 1980 last year. I found one site that said 32,000 scientists had signed a petition stating that the global warming problem did not exist. The same article stated that Al Gore's primary expert on global warming was a vocal proponent of global cooling during the 70's and is now a vocal advocate of global warming.
I can't speak for my reader, but I see a few problems with all of this.
1. First there are some very serious questions in my mind as to whether there is any evidence at all which really supports man caused global warming; if there is any at all it is suspect.
2. Second, even if there is a problem of man caused global warming, the countries which have enacted this cap and tax type system have had no effect on carbon dioxide levels.... their emissions have gone up.
3. Third, this cap and tax idea provides no proof that it warrants the cost, the lost jobs, or the damage it will definitely do to the economy. That is NOT IN DOUBT!
4. The economy is far too fragile at this time to experiment with a gamble of this magnitude for a problem that may not exist, and for results which appear unachievable.
One must question then just why in the world we would pass such a bill. There is no logic to this. It does not even resemble what I would call cost effective or reasonable. If you then take into consideration that in addition to this Obama wants to pass this health care reform at a cost of another trillion dollars, when we are already bankrupt it would seem to be madness. Absolute insanity,..... unless there is some bigger plan.
Actually it is madness. (my opinion) Interestingly enough I think I may have accidentally stumbled onto the reason for all the apparent madness. I will tell you now that it is only a thought which has crossed my mind, but things have given me cause to consider it as a possibility.
I hate to bring it up actually because people seem to immediately shy away from anything which seems like a conspiracy theory and this will sound exactly like one. However, it ties into this global warming thing, the left wing extremists, their agendas, Obama, and his Czars, and their apparent belief that they have the right to silence and prosecute dissenting views. (I refer to the executive order signed by Clinton in 1998)
The UN is an advocate of a One World government and a one world currency. The UN is to be the governing body of course. Secretary of the Treasury Geithner let it slip in an interview that we would consider a one world currency. He was roundly criticized afterward and sort of backpedaled from his remark. His job,after all, is to "protect" the dollar.
Obama has been apologizing for "America's arrogance" to the world. He has appointed Czars who have publicly stated that they are opposed to capitalism, are socialists, or communists (Van Jones). They look up to the likes of Karl Marx, Fidel Castro, and Hugo Chavez. His communication Czar is on record stating he wants to suppress opposing media....in the name of "diversity and fairness" of course...hence the diversity czar.
In an interview with Lord Monckton, his lordship revealed that during his campaign one of Obama's advisors said that "he (Obama) regarded the U.S. Constitution as merely a piece of paper...and that he saw it as a barrier to the things that the left around the world want to do....and therefore they were going to find ways of circumventing it."
From Obama's speeches I have personally developed the feeling that he does not like America. That somehow he has contempt for our country and our free enterprise system. It has become obvious that he is of the left wing school of thought. I suspect that, based on his appointments, he is extremely left wing oriented.
The left wingers are of the belief that America makes up a small percentage of the world population and that we use a disproportionate amount of the world's resources. Because we use so much we leave less for other less developed countries. Therefore we should use a lot less so that others might have more.
In addition to that the U.S. was too wealthy and too independent to become a member of the One World community under the governance of the UN. It is necessary for the U.S. to be brought down to the level of other world countries to be an equal member. We are separatists and believe in independence as revealed by our constitution. This is unacceptable to the left wing ideology.
I confess that I have been troubled by something regarding Obama's administration. He has said publicly that the country is already bankrupt. He continues to push for the government health care whereby the government would ultimately become the health insurance industry for the American public and he continues to push for this cap and tax program.
The country cannot afford social security or medicare, both of which are unsustainable, much less these two proposed programs when we are bankrupt by Obama's own admission. So, how in the world could we conceivably afford these two programs? Everyone has acknowledged the impact on the economy and the cost of the programs. Why would they continue to push for them? Indeed, be so adamant that they be rushed through right now?
This question has eaten at me for some time now. Things have to make some sort of sense, but this appears to make no sense at all. Either the administration is incredibly stupid, or they have some reason they are so determined to ram these bills down our throats. I find it very hard to believe that they are incredibly stupid, therefore there has to be a plan.
I believe I may have begun to get some idea as to why. I have only circumstantial evidence. It does look like a conspiracy theory. It may be entirely wrong or partially wrong. If so, it is wrong. However, you can bet that the fact remains that there is some undisclosed end result that the administration seeks to obtain and nothing about these proposed programs indicate that it will be anything that true Americans will see as good.
I have said before that the way to destroy a country is to destroy their economy and what the administration is doing is attacking it on every front. We're already bankrupt and the country will not be able to withstand this assault on the economy. There can be little doubt of an intent to break the bank of our country. The question is; why would they want to? They obviously do. But why?
The fact that Obama believes in socialism is becoming more and more apparent and is evidenced by his selection of left wing extremists to place throughout government. He is surrounded by 32 Czars who are self avowed socialists and/or communists. Obama's own leanings are revealed in his associations throughout his life. His past speeches reveal his leanings for socialism and a dislike of free enterprise and capitalism. He has implied a desire to create a Utopian society in the world during many of his past speeches.
Research on his Czars and other political appointments reveal all this. His European tour was as an apologist for America's past and implied that he is ashamed of our country and discontent with our ways. He even signed an agreement to allow Europeans to oversee our financial institutions. I am not so sure that allowing a board of Europeans to supersede American laws and regulations is even within his power. It is another indication that he thinks European thinking is more correct than our own. Regardless, it would seem to be unconstitutional to allow foreign interests to regulate American affairs.
Obama has also indicated a willingness to sign the "Convention on the Rights of the Child" which was passed by the United Nations and ratified by 193 countries. The only two who have not is Somalia and the U.S. This is a disturbing document. It provides children with rights which supersede those of parents and provides that the UN shall supersede our constitution and our congress and that they shall have the power to impose their will on our congress. Parents will become nothing more than care takers of the young and that the children are essentially wards of the state.
The idea may merely be to create an all out crisis to provide an excuse to move more rapidly in advancing their agenda, the worse it gets the more they act, the worse it gets....until we are there. They use the crisis as an excuse to enact a new policy and they create more crisis for more enactments.
If an adults speaks out against this, the state may take the children. The children will only stay with the parents as long as the parents go along with the ideology of the program. Obama has said he will sign this if it reaches his desk. It is my belief that Obama and his machine want very much to see us become a part of a one world government under the UN and to create a one world currency.
The system would be a socialistic system.
I am not exactly sure of all the reasons that breaking our country financially furthers this cause, but there is apparently some connection.
The IPCC, which is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, is a branch of the United Nations and is very much under the control of climate doomsters.The UN is behind the Kyoto Protocol which is basically calling for nations to pass the cap and tax legislation. Obama is pushing this to be UN compliant. The IPCC science has been shown to be faulty and the whole issue of man caused CO2 proven false. But the administration insists it be passed anyway. The UN continues to push it's agenda.
The left is behind all this and Obama and his machine are proving to be complicit in furthering the idea of one world law and governance.
I am not sure if just breaking this country allows them to move us into this one world system or if it is but an intermediate step. It may be that when we are brought to our knees financially and can no longer borrow or print enough money to support our military, that they can use the excuse to change our form of government or prostrate us before the UN so that we can maintain a smaller force much like the European countries and expect that our defense will be dependent upon a combined effort by the United Nations member states.
This is all speculation on my part. It is scary to consider. It may not be the reason for their push on these policies, but it remains a possibility. Obama himself said during the campaign to judge him by those he surrounded himself with. The list is long and very troublesome.
He has been deeply involved with ACORN (their attorney in 1985), SEIU, in fact most all unions and environmentalists. These groups have a history of radical beliefs and agendas. Many of them have done terroristic acts, and resorted to violence. They are very vocal, vicious, and aggressive. They do not hesitate to attack opposition and do so in every possible way to crush any and all opposition and silence them.
Recently the founder of Whole Foods Market spoke out against the health care reform bill. He was vilified by the left and they demonstrated at numerous stores and called for a boycott of the business.
A little known secret I uncovered in this research is that on December 10, 1998 then President Bill Clinton signed executive order 13107. The executive order is titled "The Implementation of Human Rights Treaties". The media ignored it and our leaders did not tell us. Yet, we will pay the cost....in freedom as well as dollars....for the creation of a massive government bureaucracy to promote, monitor, and enforce compliance with human rights regulations mandated by the United Nations. Remember, this governing body shows only contempt for biblical values, American sovereignty, and the U.S. Constitution.
Clinton timed this perfectly. Congress was adjourned for the holidays. Without it's objection, the executive order would take effect within 30 days (not a hard and fast rule) and become federal law. Once implemented, NO ONE WOULD BE FREE TO DO OR SAY ANYTHING CONTRARY TO THE NEW GLOBAL IDEOLOGY. (This is probably why the far left feels empowered to prosecute opposition to their ideology and agenda)
I was shocked. I wonder what else has been done behind our backs and just how our freedom can be given away by any one individual or even the congress! I think it is treason. As I have been writing this today I got an email from News Max magazine. It is an article by David Horowitz. For readers who are not familiar with Mr. Horowitz he is a former leftwing radical and former communist who became disillusioned with the left when he realized the errors in the leftward thinking. He is now a conservative and often writes to explain and expose the inner workings of the left.

After reading this I decided that some information on George Soros should be included. I have been aware of this individual for many years. As a former currency trader, I saw his affect on the currency markets in the mid 90's because he would often move the markets with his lone position. It was generally not good to be in the market opposite of his position because the markets would move a great deal due to the size of the position he took. ie. if he opted to sell the dollar the market for it went down and if you were holding it you lost money.
At any rate, I heard his name many times in currency trading circles. It was rumored that he once made 1 billion dollars in one day selling the British pound. He has made many billions over the years and has a great deal of money to use to further his agendas. I am going to include in this some information on him and his various organizations because he has become a big player in our future. In fact it would be a good idea for my reader to become familiar with his organizations by reading up on them.
For the moment I am going to include a site that has the information and just provide a summary of some of it. He is a major player in what is happening. The information I am summarizing can be found at earstohear.net. He is described as one of the most powerful men on earth. There are those who believe that Obama answers to him, though I cannot prove that to be the case. The Obama speeches given to SEIU members and ACORN members certainly implies that he is neck deep with both.
Soros' flagship foundation is the Open Society Institute which has dispensed an estimated 5 billion dollars to a multitude of organizations whose objectives are consistent with his. According to Richard Poe, co-author (with David Horowitz) of the 2006 book, "The Shadow Party is the real power driving the Democratic machine. It is a network of radicals dedicated to transforming our constitutional republic into a socialist hive. The leader of these radicals is George Soros."
"It works by siphoning off hundreds of millions of dollars in campaign contributions that would have gone to the Democratic Party in normal times, and putting those contributions at the personal disposal of Mr. Soros. He then uses the money to buy influence and loyalty as he sees fit."
February 10, 2008, " Billionaire George Soros is contributing 2.5 million to a new political organization that promotes Democratic causes in the 2008 elections. The New York Times confirmed an earlier report by Newsmax disclosing that the group, Fund For America, was organized by Taco Bell heir Rob McKay, former Clinton White House Chief of Staff John Podesta, and Anna Burger of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The SEIU matched Soros contribution, Newsmax reported in November that the liberal activists had joined forces to form the so-called 527 group....named for a section of the tax code that allows such an organization to attempt to influence elections as long as it discloses donors and expenses. Fund For America is expected to air television ads and take other political action designed to help Democrats win the White House and retain control of congress, Andrew Malcolm of the Los Angeles Times reported.

"The O'Reilly Factor--Fox News..."The factor has been investigating far-left billionaire George Soros, a man who wants to impose a radical left agenda on America." As I said, there are pages of information on this guy at the site and the information is eye opening.
So it appears that more and more people are beginning to see the same things. We are beginning to get the agenda. The ultimate plan is likely socialism, if they can succeed. It looks more and more to me like we are going to have to get very involved with the politics of our country.
Glenn Beck has said, and I agree, that Washington, the congress, and all these groups are corrupt. Glenn has suggested that they intend to spread their corruption, and our money, throughout the U.S. with all the legislation they are pushing. Glenn has suggested that all of the legislation coming out of Washington should be stopped and all of it killed until such time as we can find out just who is behind it and what it entails.
This is a sensible approach. If we do not stop it and give it serious scrutiny the odds are great that our country and our way of life will be grievously or perhaps mortally wounded. I suggest it is better to be safe than sorry. I, for one, do not care to roll the dice with our freedom and way of life when the odds appear to be greatly stacked against us.
I heard tell that one of the left wing radicals in the administration has been reported to say that "if a person does not want to conform and go along with our ideology then they should be euthanized." To that I say you had best get busy because there will likely be long lines. I can tell you that this writer is of the "Live Free or Die" school. Because to live under socialism IS death but it is slow and painful. If the quality of life is gone I am ready to leave with it. I don't think Americans will go down easy. Remember the Alamo....or Pearl Harbor. DON'T TREAD ON US.
From what I can ascertain from my research and observation of current events America is on the verge of being mortgaged by insiders. If they continue down this road of "inclusion" in some world order, we will be faced with either a second BLOODY REVOLUTION to fight for our freedom or we will succumb to their one world vision.
I am outraged, and I believe that all Americans will be, over this development. My governing principle in life has always been that if I can see the potential for something to become a problem I never let it get started.
I come to you with only speculation, and circumstantial evidence. It is because the facts to prove this will not exist until it is too late to stop it. Once it becomes obvious it will be upon us and the facts will be known, but late. Too late. I may not be precisely correct about the details of their plan, but rest assured that they do have one.
If we do not want to risk these leftwing agenda's becoming our reality, we must stop these Obama bills dead in their tracks. No compromise. We cannot afford to have them phased in during the darkness of night while we sleep or when our backs are turned. Stop the corruption and the poison now, totally and completely.

You know I just can't help but get upset at what is going on. The idea of a socialist government in this country is appalling to me. But you know what? Our own thinking has been slowly corrupted in this country. We have been slowly conditioned to accept their radical ideas over many years. The very first entitlement program ever passed was the beginning of the end. The promise of something for nothing was the candy with which they poisoned our society.
America...our democratic republic ....is an idea. The first entitlement was an opiate for its destruction.
There is no such thing as something for nothing. Nothing is free. Everything comes with a price and entitlements come at the cost of freedom...sooner or later. I for one have never believed that I was born with any right to be provided a damned thing by anyone. I expected my freedom of choice, my freedom to live my life as I saw fit, my freedom to speak my mind, and my opportunity to rise to any station I was willing to work to achieve.
One of the violations of our rights was the federally mandated seat belt law. This law is unconstitutional. It should never have been allowed to stand. It violates the rights of the individual to free choice. I am surprised that no one has ever taken it to the Supreme Court. I won't argue the merits of wearing a seat belt because it is not the merits of wearing one that are the issue. Everyone who chooses to wear one is free to do so. It is the underlying principle that we should take issue with.
There are justifiable reasons for a law against speeding. That has merit because it protects the lives of OTHER motorists. To pass a law mandating that you wear a seat belt does not protect the lives of others. The seat belt protects YOUR life as an individual, but your life is yours. If it is yours, you have the right to decide what to do with it or how to spend it. That right was never given to the federal government.
It was never presented to the people as an option and I doubt it would have passed if it had. So, how did it pass or why was it passed. Well, it would have had to be the insurance lobbiests who got that done for us. Thank you special interests for undermining our country and our rights. The argument of course is that to require everyone to wear a seat belt reduces costs to the insurance industry and therefore helps to hold the cost of insurance down for everyone....maybe. So, the argument then is that it is for "the common good" rather than concern for any individual rights or freedom.
The problem with that is that it is the dogma of socialism. The excuse that things that are done or required are for the "common good" or the good "of the state". This is erroneous thinking in the land of the free. It is forced conformism for the"common good". It is not and never was the intent of our founders that we live our lives for another or for the "good of the state". It is the excuse used by the socialists for all their infringements of the rights of individuals. Americans need to be vigilant about these things because our complacency allows the virus to take root.
If there is validity to the insurance industry claim then they should have approached it in a manner such as restricting coverage on the individual if you are involved in an accident, sustain injuries, and were not wearing a seat belt. Then the individual is free to choose and pays the consequences of individual choice if there are any. Then there is no added expense on the company caused by those who opt not to wear a seat belt, individuals retain their right to choose, and insurance rates are not forced up by those who choose not to wear a seat belt. The common good is not infringed and neither are individual rights.
If that is not enough they mandate that the state must enforce it or lose their federal highway funding. This overrides the right of the state as well, and further violates the constitution. The state becomes the lap dog of the federal government.
We want to have our cake and eat it too. We complain about importing foreign oil, yet we refuse to drill for the oil we have here. We complain about pollution caused by the use of coal to produce power, yet we refuse to build nuclear power plants. This is ludicrous! We sound like a bunch of spoiled brats.
I don't think the CO2 levels are a problem, but if we have a little too much let's all plant some trees. The tree huggers will love us for it and the trees will love the CO2.
I have never asked a thing from my country...either the government or my neighbor. I have only asked to be left alone. I realized from an early age that my life was MY responsibility and not the responsibility of another. I accepted individual responsibility for my own welfare and never tried to find someone to blame for my errors or misfortunes. After all, the freedom of choice allows me room to screw up and that is the accepted price I pay for my freedom of choice. I am allowed to succeed but I have the equal right to fail. It is a bargain price for my freedom and I willingly pay it.
The fact that we recognize that "all men are created" equal does not mean financial equality, rather it is the equal "opportunity" to prosper. We will always have some who are in poverty at one time or another. I have been rich and I have been poor. I never blamed my poverty on my neighbor nor have I ever felt envious of another's success. I consider my station in life at any given time that on my own doing. Because I accept responsibility for myself.
The promise of socialism is for financial equality, that of being provided for by the state. That is backward thinking, it has been proven false over and over. You cannot expect something for nothing and anyone with any common sense knows that. We have had a level of temporary poverty in our country of about 10% at any one given time over the years, but these are people in "temporary poverty". In this country they are not relegated to a station in life that is perpetual.
Under socialism you have a redistribution of money which makes 90% poor perpetually and concentrates 10% of the money at the top to those in power.....perpetually. It stifles innovation, incentives, and motivation. This country grew fast, was the technological leader of the world, the most productive country in the world...not because we invented or produced at the point of a gun but because we were excited about our opportunity to move up. No one held us down. We were industrious and out produced every country on earth. We competed with socialistic regimes and broke them. They cannot, and will not, ever be able to compete because their system stifles the advancement of civilization.
If they succeed in transforming this country, it will turn back the hands of the clock for the entire world. Our inventors, entrepreneurs, and innovators will shut down. ...because we will not produce at the point of a gun. We have been the example and held out the only hope for mankind to live in peace and make progress. If we allow the idea of a free republic to be undermined it will be written into history that capitalism was a failed concept.
I dispute that and I will to my dying day. It was never the failure of our republic nor a failure of free enterprise. It has been the power grabs by government and their continual intervention and manipulation of our economy and our markets. The more they intervened and tried to manipulate the more screwed up it became. Problems beget problems. It is like a drug, you take it for one problem and you get three side effects. You then have to take three more drugs to combat those side effects, which then cause more side effects which mean more drugs, and pretty soon you don't know what your problem is and nothing works right.
We have got to stop thinking, in this country, that our own personal beliefs are the correct ones and that every citizen must live according to "our" view of what is right thinking or correct behavior. We legislate to control the individual and it flies in the face of the idea that is America and a free democratic republic. Our nation was born out of the idea of "tolerance" and the individuals freedom of choice. It is the germ of socialism to think that the individual must be forced to conform. The beauty of America was our willingness to accept others and allow them their own beliefs. It was tolerance... and we have become less and less tolerant of others and more and more demanding of them.
The opposite of tolerance can readily be seen in the beliefs of the Islamic radicals, their terror attacks on innocents, and the treatment of those people over whom they hold power. If you wish to see the future of intolerance you need only observe. It is violent oppression.
The government is always busy running around trying to fix side effects of problems they themselves have created. The whole entire financial collapse of last year was not because of free markets nor of wall street. The problem was caused by the government intervening in the markets to begin with. It was at THEIR insistence that all those sub-prime mortgages were written with the idea that "people who could not afford a home should have one". It was the quotas they placed on the lenders and AIG that REQUIRED them to make the loans.
They caused the system to collapse in spite of warnings beforehand that it was a house of cards, and now they scream we need more government regulation of the markets. There were people all over the world screaming that there was a problem with these mortgages but Barney Franks and Chris Dodd upped the quotas some more. Now they are all screaming, and Obama is now charging, that we need more government involvement. This is nonsense. This is putting the proverbial fox in the hen house, though in this instance it will not be a fox but a wolf.
I have sat back silent for years as I have watched the decay of values in America. We no longer take responsibility for our own actions...someone always has to be to blame for any misfortune we encounter. We have come to expect that we must be protected and kept safe by someone at all times. I swear I expect that any day now someone will pass a law banning accidents. Since when were be born with a guarantee that we would encounter no harm? That someone else is responsible for our safety ....or that it is our RIGHT to be safe. Since when were we born with the right to be provided health insurance or anything else but our freedom. We are free to buy it.
The entire argument over government health care does not make sense nor does it belong in any discussion of a society in a free republic. Taxpayers revolt at paying for things they don't want to pay for and the cure was that the programs should never have been started to begin with. You have the catch net and people do stupid things that cause them to fall into it. Indeed some of them dive into it. Remove the net and they make better decisions.
We must change government, but we must stop and consider all the poisons the left has conditioned us to accept as well. We have a deterioration of American values even amongst the people. Yes, we need to fix government, but we need to get back in touch with the values that are the very heart of freedom as well. One of which is individual responsibility.
It's possible that I could be wrong about the end plan of this administration, but if the exact plan is inaccurate the real one is likely to be as sinister.
For now we must bury congress with letters and calls to stop the bills. Call them....write them...and send this to all you know. We have the internet, let us spread the word and lets us unite to put a stop to this insanity.

In the meantime,. you absolutely need to read "Liberty and Tyranny" by Mark Levin. This book explains what is going on, how they have done it, and where we are headed. It is a MUST read.
The book "Catastrophe" by Dick Morris contains many facts as well. It will infuriate you. I confess...for me it was a hard read. I got so mad I would have to take breaks. It is a lot to swallow hearing what these two guys have to tell you.
